Effective Monday, March 16, StopWaste will close its office under the guidance of the Alameda County Public Health Department and the California Department of Public Health to help protect the health and well-being of our community. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates here as needed. For up-to-date information on closures and recommended actions, please visit your city's website. As of July 1, the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Facilities in Oakland, Livermore, and Hayward will no longer accept prescription medication.
Recycling is having a bit of a wake-up call. Extra attention is needed by residents and businesses to reduce waste overall and make sure that materials we are recycling have the highest value.
