Alameda Unified School District

Each school district in Alameda County contracts for their own garbage and recycling collection service and provides their own classroom recycling bin. StopWaste's irecycle@school program provides the educational program support and indoor classroom signage material to support student's understanding and practice of the 4Rs.

The following items are collected in the district (click here to download indoor recycling signage):

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Plastic #1-7
  • Aluminum
  • Steel
  • Glass bottles
  • Milk cartons (can go in recycling or compost, though recycling is the highest and best use)
  • Food scraps

If you have questions about your collection service or recycling bins, please contact:
