Don't be Fooled - Understand and Maintain Your Irrigation System Webinar

This April Fools’ Day, outsmart the real trickster: your irrigation system. Spring Plant Sale at Fertile Groundworks

Come support your local urban farm by purchasing your spring plants and starts at their Spring Plant Sale! This year, Fertile Groundworks will open up their big hoop house for visitors to pick out their own seedlings. Also for sale is Fertile Groundworks on house-made fertilizer, made with their own compost. Proceeds supports Fertile Groundworks School Garden programming for Livermore schools.

Annual Seedling Sale at LEAF 

When: Every Thursday and Sunday in April, from 10 am - 1 pm

LEAF's Annual Seedling Sale begins on Sunday, April 5th! They are selling a variety of tomato seedlings, plus onions and kale, in 4-inch pots for $5 each. They are biocide-free and grown in our LEAF Urban Farm lathhouse in Fremont with love by LEAF's Volunteers. They are also selling composting worms for $20 per container and newly harvested worm castings from our worm farm for $20 per 2-pound bag. Buy seedlings online and pick up in-person. Please Note: The entrance to the LEAF Urban Farm and parking lot has moved from Mowry Avenue to Mission Boulevard.

Spring Planting Day at Sunflower Hill

Garfield Elementary Victory Garden Expansion Workday

Tandi Family Farms is helping build new satellite urban farms in the community through their Victory Garden Project, including a garden at Garfield Elementary! Join rain or shine for a community work day, where folks will be sheet mulching, filling garden beds, planting blueberries and raspberries, and building berry hedges and pumpkin arches. Bring work gloves, water, and a shovel or wheelbarrow if you have one. Coffee and bagels are provided. Family friendly!

Master Gardeners Annual Plant Sale

Alameda Backyard Growers' Annual Spring Plant Sale

ABG volunteers have been growing some interesting plant starts: an assortment of zucchini, cucumbers, winter squash, bush beans, herbs, flowers, rare types of peppers (many of them sweet rather than mouth-scorching) and more than a dozen varieties of tomato (both heirloom and hybrid beauties that do great in Alameda backyards). Those starts will be ready for sale at ABG’s booth at the Alameda Recreation and Park District's Spring Shindig!
