BENEFITS OF BECOMING A BAY-FRIENDLY QUALIFIED LANDSCAPE PROFESSIONAL:

Requirements for Participating in the Bay-Friendly Design Training:

A. Graduation from a landscape architecture OR landscape design certification program AND 2 or more years experience designing landscapes

OR

B. Public Sector Professionals who are not trained as landscape architects or designers but have 4 or more years managing the design and construction of:

  • Municipal landscapes
  • Schools, parks & recreational facilities
  • Commercial landscapes

We qualify individuals, not companies.

You can give yourself a competitive edge by being a part of this dynamic approach to designing landscapes to protect and enhance our watershed.

  • Become an expert in Bay-Friendly Landscaping, as an ecologically based approach to the management of urban landscapes.

Participating in the Bay-Friendly Landscape Maintenance Training and Qualification Program will also provide you or your staff the opportunity to:

BAY-FRIENDLY MARKETING FOR QUALIFIED LANDSCAPE PROFESSIONALS:

The Bay-Friendly Landscaping Program will help you market your new expertise.  We will recognize all qualified professional landscape professionals who meet a standard for knowledge about BFL principles and practices by 

  • bay-friendly quailication sealListing your name on www.BayFriendly.org and www.bayfriendlycoalition.org.
  • Distributing a printed list of qualified individuals to Alameda County residents AND city staff.
  • Providing you with a certificate of qualification and patch/pin with the Bay-Friendly Landscaping logo.
  • Helping you identify yourself as a Bay-Friendly Qualified Landscape Professional through restricted use of the logo as well as a personalized graphic for your website.


Please note:
if you are a Bay-Friendly Qualified Maintenance professional and also offer design services, you are required to attend the Design training and meet the requirements of that program to be identified as a Bay-Friendly Qualified professional for designing new landscapes.
