Green Your Operations

If you are ready to reduce the amount of waste your school district creates, we are ready to help you.

StopWaste offers Alameda County school districts technical assistance and free educational resources. We will help you reduce, reuse, recycle and compost support your efforts to purchase recycled products.

StopWaste gives priority to school districts that have committed to reducing the amount of readily recyclable and compostable materials in landfill trash to less than 10% by the year 2020.

In return for making this commitment to "less than 10% good stuff in the garbage by 2020" StopWaste will help your district design, implement, and sustain your recycling and compost programs and provide fun, engaging, and effective activities to educate students and staff about waste reduction.

By implementing the 4Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot (compost) – throughout your district, you’ll reduce your district's waste hauling costs while empowering students to participate in waste reduction and to appreciate the value of our world’s natural resources.

The following Priority School Districts (indicated in bold) have already committed to reducing the amount of readily recyclable and compostable materials to less than 10% by 2020.
