This letter means your site does not have the required compost and/or recycling collection service. No fine has been issued yet, but you must act promptly to avoid a future citation and fine.
What to Do
1. Contact Your Garbage Company
Call your waste hauler to subscribe to both compost and recycling collection service.
2. Submit Proof of Service
Once you've subscribed, submit proof (a bill, account statement, or confirmation email) using the online form so your records can be updated.
Already Have Service?
If you received this letter in error and already have compost and recycling collection, submit proof of your existing service using the form above to correct your records.
Alternative Arrangements
If you use non-standard collection methods, these may satisfy the requirement. Complete a Certification of Recycling Service (CRS) form for any of the following:
- Self-hauling materials to a composting or recycling facility
- Back-hauling through your supply chain
- Shared service with a neighboring business account
- Third-party contracts with composting or recycling providers
Waiver Eligibility
You may qualify for a waiver if your property:
- Generates minimal compostable or recyclable materials
- Lacks physical space for additional containers
Waivers require a formal application through your local jurisdiction.
