Built Environment Services for Member Agencies


StopWaste partners with local governments in Alameda County to advance innovative solutions that reduce waste in the built environment. We offer local governments: 

Policy & Regulatory Support

Get help navigating the changing world of policies and regulations that address critical sustainability issues, including: 

  • Assistance with climate change and resiliency planning
  • Support for policies, reach codes and leadership standards that reduce waste, save energy and water, and mitigate climate change
  • Engagement with state and federal agencies to influence and track regulations affecting our region's environmental sustainability
 

Project Implementation Assistance

Obtain assistance with planning and implementing building, landscape and infrastructure projects that reduce waste, energy and pollution, including: 

 

 

 

 

Professional Development Services

Receive reimbursement for certain green professional development opportunities, including:

  • Memberships in organization such as ICLEI, ReScape California (formerly Bay-Friendly Coalition), U.S. Green Building Council, Build It Green, International Living Future Institute, and Green Cities California
  • Conferences such as the Behavior, Energy and Climate Change Conference, GreenBuild, California Climate Action Planning Conference, and GreenBiz's VERGE
  • Trainings and certifications such as Bay-Friendly Landscape Professionals training and qualification, California Building Officials' CALGreen course, LEED professional credentials, and Build It Green classes and certification
