StopWaste’s office building in Oakland recently earned a 2-Star rating from Fitwel, the world’s leading certification system for buildings designed and operated to support occupant health and well-being.
StopWaste worked with Build It Green and ICLEI to develop the nation's first third-party verified residential green building calculator designed to measure the greenhouse gas emissions related to building green homes.
StopWaste first published these comprehensive planning, design and construction resources in the mid-2000's. The guidelines were thoroughly researched by building industry experts, and vetted by stakeholders including local government staff, architects, project managers and developers. StopWaste's Green Building Guidelines and Multifamily Green Building Guidelines helped accelerate the adoption of green building principles and practices regionally and nationally.
