StopWaste Wins 2022 Edible Communities Sustainability Award

November 18, 2022

StopWaste was recently recognized with the 2022 Edible Communities Sustainability Award for our accomplishments in helping residents, businesses, and schools reduce waste and build healthier, more resilient communities. Edible Communities is a locally-focused food media company with a network of over 90 independently-run magazines throughout North America and Canada, including Edible East Bay, a long-time story-telling partner helping to amplify our programs and initiatives. Each year, Edible Communities magazine publishers submit nominations for the annual Sustainability Award and the winner is chosen based on scope of work, community impacts, and relevancy to sustainability.

StopWaste Executive Director, Timothy Burroughs, accepted the award on the agency’s behalf and shared key insight for how the public agency makes a big impact in Alameda County, “Our programs have multiple benefits. We design our work to be good for people, businesses, and the planet.” StopWaste is proud to be the recipient of the 2022 Edible Communities Sustainability Award and will continue to work with and through the community.
