Middle school student cafeteria green team

When students take action to reduce and prevent waste at school, it opens a world of learning opportunities about real environmental issues and the impacts every day decisions can have at school and at home. At StopWaste, we engage students and educators to be leaders in waste prevention through educational programs and hands-on waste reduction projects in schools. We also provide technical assistance to help school districts waste less and keep valuable materials out of landfills.

StopWaste works with all 18 Alameda County school districts to transform schools into centers of environmental learning and action. When students take action on waste reduction, they discover how everyday decisions impact their communities and the planet.
