Overview
StopWaste publishes Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) covering the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, Recycling Board, and Energy Council. These reports include independently audited financial statements, management analysis, and statistical information demonstrating responsible stewardship of public funds.
All financial reports are publicly available and comply with Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements.
StopWaste has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for four consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and submitted the most recent annual budget for consideration as well.

Financial Position
StopWaste maintains adequate fund balances and reserves to support ongoing operations. Reserves are designated for specific purposes including building maintenance, pension obligations, disaster recovery, and periodic studies such as the five-year audit and waste characterization study.
