Program Goals

SWAP students posing with their awards

The StopWaste Ambassador Program (SWAP) amplifies youth voice and develops environmental leaders across Alameda County. Middle and high school students work alongside city and school district partners to reduce waste, educate peers, and drive climate action in their communities. This program also builds students' outreach, education, and leadership skills, empowering them to engage with others to create impactful and lasting change.

Who Can Participate

The SWAP program is open to any and all Alameda County middle and high school students or youth groups. An adult advisor or coach must apply with a student or youth group. Participants commit to at least two years of participating in the program in some capacity.
