These materials are accepted at the Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Facilities. Click for details, drop-off instructions, and alternative drop-off options such as neighborhood hardware stores. 




Medicine and Prescription Drugs 

We CAN NOT ACCEPT Medicine and Prescription Drugs at the HHW Facilities. These items can be dropped off at over 80 pharmacies and clinics that have self-service kiosks.

Prohibited Items:

Prohibited items are hazardous materials that must not go in the trash, but can NOT be accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Facilities. Check the table below to find disposal options for prohibited items.
