Anchor Schools

Dedicated to Waste Prevention and Reduction

As a StopWaste Anchor School, you are committed to educating students to apply their skills and knowledge in action-based learning to stop waste at home, at school, and in their community. StopWaste anchor schools are given priority for StopWaste project support and resources.

StopWaste Anchor Schools commit to:

  • Planning hours to take action with StopWaste educators
  • Supporting student led action projects, classroom programs and field trips
  • Pilot new innovative waste reduction programs as available

To be eligible to become an anchor school, your school needs to have participated in a StopWaste School program within the last three years, and have one lead administrator, teacher or club leader as the main liaison.
