Landscape professionals: Attend the 16th annual Water Conservation Showcase to learn practical solutions to California's most pressing water issues.

When: Thursday, March 21, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Where: Pacific Energy Center, 851 Howard St., San Francisco
Cost: Free but advance registration is requested.

This year's Showcase will include dozens of exhibitors representing water-conserving products and services, plus 12 workshops and educational sessions. The workshops are often standing-room only, so try to arrive early. 

We especially recommend the "Soil Remediation for Water Conservation and Healthier Gardens" workshop presented by StopWaste's Kelly Schoonmaker and compost expert Ron Alexander. Kelly's and Ron's interactive session will address soil best management practices that save water, improve plant health, and meet or exceed the requirements of the state's Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. They will also cover applying, specifying, purchasing and evaluating compost and mulch products. Bring your questions about compost, mulch, WELO compliance and other soil concerns.
