Founded in Oakland almost 40 years ago, Civicorps runs an extensive job training program for young adults lacking career skills and opportunities, with paid positions in land management and resource conservation. They also offer a high school diploma program for young adults ages 18-26, as well as access to wrap-around support services to help with childcare, housing, legal issues, transportation, and other daily life needs.

At the meeting held September 23, 2020, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority adopted amendments to the Countywide Integrated Waste Management Plan, and found plan conformance for the Certified Blue Recycling Facility at 2075 Williams Street, San Leandro, California.
The Alameda County Waste Reduction and Recycling Initiative (“Measure D”) was approved by the voters
of Alameda County in November 1989. It established the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board (“Recycling Board”) and mandated that the Recycling Board create and periodically update a plan for a comprehensive source reduction and recycling program.
